Duties & Responsibilites for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), and a Home Health Aide HHA)

  • Helping patients with activities of daily living.
  • Bathe and dress the patients.
  • Serving meals and helping patients eat.
  • Lifting and moving patients.
  • Taking vital signs.
  • Maintaining a clean and sanitized environment. (**Includes vacuum and laundry).
  • Facilitating patients care. (**If you identify bruises or injuries on a patient report them to our medical staff).
  • Professional communication with your supervisor. (**Only communicate with Erick or Nancy. No direct communication is allowed with the patient’s family in matters concerning the patients care.)
  • Providing companionship.
  • Document accurate records about the patient’s daily progress on a notebook or Care plan sheet.
  • Perform light house keeping duties.
  • Dress professionally while at work.

Communication

  • As stated in the duties and responsibilities page, all Caregivers must document the patients daily progress on a notebook or care plan sheet provided.
  • In the unfortunate case where a patient falls, contact and notify your supervisor immediately. (**No exceptions).
  • In the case of any abrupt changes in the patients behavior, contact and notify the office immediately.
  • If there are any issues you would like to raise/report or discuss about the case you are working on, please contact the office.
  • And as states previously, all caregivers can only communicate with the supervisor(Erick) in matters regarding the patients care and not the family members. If the family members have any questions or concerns please direct them to call or email us directly.

Attendance & Call-Out Rules

  • A no call no show will result in a write up and possible disciplinary measures may be taken.
  • Tardiness: All employees are expected to be on time, repeated offenses on tardiness will have consequences.
  • All employees are kindly requested to give ample time in case of a call out. Call outs just before the shifts starts will result in a write up.
