HOMECARE NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS

“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” Lao Tzu

It is human to measure the progress one has had over time. Progress translates to growth which in turn leads to a change in the environment. The human spirit craves for change for we are not static beings. We lay-out plans and work towards attaining them. The end of year period is a time for reflection on how we spent our time from January all the way to the tail end of December. And as such, we plan for the following year and set goals/challenges that need to be resolved.

Myth:

Resolutions can only be set at beginning of the year?

Answer: False

Resolutions can be set at any time. Literally any time, it could be in the middle of the night, during the day, in the middle of the month, or even three quarters into September. Our human brains are well adapted to structure and pattern recognition therefore we find it easier to commence something at the beginning of a structured time period.

Homecare Services companies specialize in providing care to elderly clients. This requires frequent visits by nurses and caregivers to the client’s homes or retirement residences. In 2020 the free movement by caregivers to client’s homes was hindered and sometimes halted altogether due to the spread of the infamous COVID-19. Moving forward, well-prepared Homecare companies will have to adapt to better care practices. We will discuss a few resolutions that Homecare services companies need to implement in 2021 in order to stay afloat in this ever-changing business.

  • STOCK MEDICAL SUPPLIES

History is meant to teach us a lesson, and what we learned from 2020 is that medical supplies are in high demand. It is critical to have them stocked and ready for all the caregivers in your company due to their importance in keeping them safe and healthy.

  • STAFFING

Being well-staffed reduces the headaches of maintaining consistent staff with clients. Having reliable and consistent caregivers enables both parties to build a relationship which in turn results to trust. The elderly client will be at ease with the caregiver since they will be settled in a routine.

  • TRAINING SESSIONS

Everyday job experience brings in newer challenges and in order to face and conquer them, one has to be in a continuous state of learning. Having a better-trained staff will result in more productivity. It also leads to caregivers who feel comfortable around patients because they have an understanding of what the client is going through.

  • MARKETING

In today’s age, the marketplace is very competitive. There are various platforms that you can choose to advertise your Homecare company. Advertising will increase your audience and the idea is the increase in the audience will lead to a boost in revenue.

  • REVIEWS

Feedback is important for a business that is in the process of growing. Ideally, you want positive feedback from all your clients and employees, this provides reassurance to those seeking to get services from a Homecare company. But negative feedback is also important in the long run, it will help your business learn from its mistakes and hopefully grow from there.

Start your journey into 2021 by tackling at least one of the aforementioned resolutions and plan and execute the rest.
